The Apiro rotary unit is an inexpensive option for adding another degree of freedom to a multi-axis linear robot. The additional axis offers the possibility of rotating or swivelling the end effectors and components around their own axis. This axis can be operated via the igus Robot Control in combination with an additional motor module and integrated into the workflow.
Control system
The igus Robot Control allows for simple and intuitive robot control and programming, offering an easy way to get started with automation. The modular design makes it possible to control various igus kinematics, such as delta robots. Operators can use our igus® Robot Control with all its advantages to control the linear robot.
The free-of-charge, licence-free igus Robot Control software is integrated into the control system and thus based on a uniform operating concept and consistent communication services for many components of a system. This results in reduced project planning effort and faster commissioning.
The igus Robot Control is not a part of the product and can be purchased from us as an option. A master control system is not necessary.
You can also use your own (robot) control system.
Alternatively, you can operate each axis individually with a control system, e.g. our igus® D1 dryve motor control system. This control system architecture requires one motor control system per linear axis or motor and an additional master control system that controls the coordination of the movement. You must then program the inverse kinematics for the delta robot yourself in your development environment.
The motor control systems are not part of the product and can be ordered from us as an option. igus does not offer a master control system at the moment.
